Management Systems
Both within HE and outside the sector, everybody has a need to manage information. Although there are 'shrink wrapped' or 'off the shelf' packages for certain common scenarios these tend to force an organisation into working how the software wants them to, instead of the software working their way.
Examples of systems we have built are:
- Booking systems for teaching - allowing students to sign up for workshops / short courses / seminar groups. These have been extended to monitor attendance and also to collect feedback via online surveys
- Maintaining records of stocks and disposals of radioactive materials, with alerts where license limits are approached and an end-user interface designed to ensure that scientists can enter the necessary data as simply and speedily as possible
- A logistics system handling tracking of over a million paper questionnaires per year, automatically mining data from disparate systems for print, courier and data entry providers and providing unified reporting and alerts
